It was 2005 and as a young musician, composition student and accordionist, when I released one of my first record works, I thought I’d send a copy to Maestro Ennio Morricone. At that time, on tour with Maestro Nicola Piovani, while I was in Catania in Sicily, one morning while I was going to study in the theater, I received a phone call: Hello, I am Ennio Morricone! I didn’t want to believe it and I honestly believed it was a joke. The great master with a humility that has always distinguished him, had contacted me to communicate, with enormous simplicity, that he had received my record, listened to it and congratulated me. This is the most beautiful memory that I carry in the heart of Maestro Morricone, which I have always paid homage to and will pay homage to in my artistic activity Made in Italy in the world. Thank you Maestro, it made us dream, excite, reflect, composing pages that will remain indelible in the history of music.
This is the letter I received from Maestro Morricone in 2010.
