PRESS RELEASE: On May 6th, World Accordion Day 2018 is celebrated. In Sweden, Marco Lo Russo will be protagonist, with his Made in Italy concept: exporting Italian art abroad, as has already happened in other countries (Mexico, Cuba, USA, Africa, Canada, etc.).
Marco Lo Russo aka Rouge, accordionist of Oscar Winner Nicola Piovani, for the soundtrack of the film Life is Beautiful by and with Roberto Benigni, is a composer and producer as well as a professor in Conservatory of Music. Among the successes of the 2017/2018 season the 7 Days finalist at Eurovision Song Contest 2017, the realization of the soundtrack of the film CityZen directed by Ruggero Gabbai, broadcast on SKY TV, and the composition of the Ave Maria dedicated to Pope Francis.
The World Accordion Day 2018, on the occasion of the 180th anniversary of the instrument, was established in 2009, with the support of the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) and Accordions Worldwide. The accordion was, in fact, patented in Vienna, Austria, by Cyrillius Demien on May 6, 1829. Several initiatives and concerts that wish to celebrate, promote, support the growth and popularization of the this musical instrument, including the open day in Sweden from 11.00 am by Karlssons Musik, Äskebackavägen 18, in the city of Fjärås, Hallands Län.
Marco Lo Russo, special guest, will also perform for the occasion with new Swedish accordions by Bengts brand, built since 1965, in collaboration with the prestigious Italian company Bugari Armando accordions, for which Marco Lo Russo is endorsement:
